Christmas...
To many Christmas is just a time to be jolly, give and receive gifts and have parties. Yet, many of us Christians know that that isn't even celebrating Christmas at all...The true reason and the meaning of Christmas is to celebrate the birth of our saviour Jesus Christ. Then, one might question, why we Christians still celebrate Christmas with the Christmas tree, presents, stockings, parties, food and even santa claus?...It seems almost like one is being a killjoy when we say Christmas really ISN'T about the Christmas tree, presents and parties, and stuff. The truth is that we should still celebrate Christmas with all these things but the important thing is that in our hearts we must know the real reason we celebrate Christmas...that is to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
Ytd, in the youth class in church, we discussed this thing abt Christmas. Our teacher listed the excuses that ppl give that we shouldn't celebrate Christmas and we were supposed to rebut...those were...1. the commercialisation of Christmas...which we rebutted by saying that just b'ocs other ppl celebrate Christmas in that fashion, doesn't mean we have to follow...we can celebrate Christmas the right way...and furthermore we can use it bring others to Christ, like one said...we could use a present to explain that God's gift to us on Christmas was, and is and will always be Jesus Christ. Other excuses were like...the bible doesn't allow it and like we don't know the exact date Jesus was born...that kind of stuff...but wat everything boils down to is actually wats in our hearts....we need to realise that Christmas is only in existence b'cos Jesus Christ was born.
I shall end with this....THE GREATEST CHRISTMAS GIFT was, and is and always will be JESUS CHRIST...!!!
