Life Is Short, I Wanna Live Life Well...
On Monday's Chapel in school, we watched The Dash Movie. And, i realised that it really says alot of how i feel, in that i am aware and understand that life is really short and that we never know when it will end, so we should make the most of of our lives here on earth, each and every second on this earth. All i really ever want is to live life to the fullest coz i treasure life alot and try each day to make the most of my life, but you see, the reason every one seems to think that i'm negative and that i'm not contented, and many a times i'm so down and upset is that each day, I DON'T FEEL THAT I AM LIVING LIFE THE WAY IT SHOULD BE LIVED, TO THE FULLEST. Take for instance, my relationships with friends, family and community, i don' t even feel that my relationships are close enough. Furthermore, i really really struggle to fit the ideal way to live life in with the requirements of daily living. Its actually very contradictory but ITS MY PASSION AND JOY FOR LIFE THAT IS THE REASON FOR MY FRUSTRATION AND CONFUSION. I feel that each time i'm wasting my time or i'm not maximising every aspect of life or not living in line with the true way to live life, that i'm just not doing justice to that life i have. Worst than this though is that I'm not even sure what it really means to live life to the fullest, i'm not completely sure that i know HOW TO LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST. RIGHT NOW TO ME, LIVING LIFE MEANS, GOD, FAMILY, FRIENDS, DREAMS, DOING WHAT ONE ENJOYS, APPRECIATING ALL THE FINER AND SIMPLY THINGS IN LIFE, ACCOMPLISHING GOALS, ENJOYMENT of PLEASURES and NATURE, LEISURE, WORK, THE EXPERIENCES OF LIFE, ADVENTURE, EXCITING ACTVITIES, SPORT, HOBBIES, TRAVEL&TOURISM, SERVING and i guess, JUST HAVING FUN too. Simply put, my idea of life is SERVING THE LORD, THROUGH FRIENDS, FAMILY and COMMUNITY, AND WORSHIPPING HIM AND BECOMING LIKE HIM; and on the other side ENJOYING THE LIFE THAT GOD HAS GIVEN TO US...of course ULTIMATELY WHATEVER THAT SHOULD BE WHAT LIFE IS ABOUT IS ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING THAT WE DO WHICH CAN BE USED TO GLORIFY THE LORD...which encompassess much of what i have mentioned. The trouble well is clear in some sense, firstly, we all have a job to fo either school or work and all the mundane things of life everyday, how can we make them part of this idea of living life to the fullest, would we really want to be doing these things if today was our last day here on earth? And, when is really the time to DO ALL THE THINGS WE EVER WANTED TO DO BEFORE WE DIE?...what if i die tmr?...So should i start truly living today? But how, when there are some many practical restraints? Do we earn enough money to do these things and pursue areas in our lives that we want to have other than the daily stuff. I know that the mundane things in life should not be neglected but, does living life fully mean making the most of our situation, like studying to the best of our abilities yet, although we can play hard like go out have fun, play a sport, or play a game or spend time playing computer, watching tv, attending performances; there are many things in life which if we only can do if we escape from the mundane things in life, such as a vacation or something like that, do we wait until we have that break which i mean, HOW MANY WORKING PEOPLE ACTUALLY GET THE LUXURY OF DOING THE THINGS THEY WANNA DO IN LIFE, OTHER THAN JUST THE USUAL LEISURE TIME SPEND ON REALLY THINGS OF VERY LITTLE MEANING? When do we get the break? I FEEL THAT WE NEED TO TAKE TIME TO REALLY DO THEY THINGS WE CARE ABOUT AND TAKE CARE OF PEOPLE AND THINGS WE CARE ABOUT AND DO MEANINGFUL THINGS...then the question still begs?...WHAT IS REALLY THE IMPORTANT THINGS THAT WE NEED TO DO IN OUR LIVES TO BE ABLE TO SAY THAT WE HAVE LIVED A GOOD LIFE? MUST IT JUST BE ABOUT WHAT OTHERS WILL SAY AFTER WE DIE? IS LIFE REALLY JUST ABOUT ENJOYING IT?OR IS FULFILLMENT MORE IMPORTANT? AND SINCE LIFE IS ABOUT SERVING THE LORD, IF WE ARE ENJOYING MATERIAL THINGS OR EXPERIENCES THAT MONEY CAN BUY, or maybe even INTANGIBLE pleasures, ARE WE REALLY DOING THAT FOR THE LORD? OR IS THAT LIVING TO ENJOY? IF ALL THINGS ARE MEANINGLESS, WHY DO WE STILL DO THEM? PERHAPS TRUE LIVING IS LIVING WITH THE PURPOSE OF GLORIFYING THE LORD BECAUSE HE HAS DONE SO MUCH FOR US AND COZ HE LOVED US FIRST AND LOVES US NOW AND FOREVER.
IF ONLY I KNEW FOR SURE HOW TO LIVE LIFE WELL, COZ I REALISE THE TRUE VALUE OF LIFE WHICH SOME PEOPLE NEVER GET UNTIL THE VERY END...BUT THEN WE HAVE TO ASK, WHY DO WE WANT OR NEED TO LIVE WELL, IS IT JUST COZ WE LIVE ONLY ONCE, I GUESS THATS TRUE AND ALSO THAT GOD GAVE US THIS LIFE. WHAT DOES IT MEAN THEN TO LIVE WELL? THE OTHER THING IS THAT WE ALSO NEED TO KNOW THE VERY REASON GOD CREATED US WHICH IS TO FELLOWSHIP WITH HIM AND ENJOY WHAT HE CREATED. MAYBE LIFE ISN'T EVEN MEANT TO BE LIVED FOR THE SAKE OF LIVING IT WELL AND EVEN IF IT IS FOR GOD AS IT TRULY IS. CAN WE JUST LIVE WITH DOING ONLY GOD'S WORK FOR US LEAVING OUT OUR DREAMS AND STUFF WE LOVE. THE ANSWER I BELIEVE IS A RESOUNDING YES...!!!...THIS IS BECAUSE IF WE TRULY LOVE, HAVE FAITH, BELIEVE AND REST OUR HOPES IN THE LORD WE WILL HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY OR FEEL DISCONTENTED ABOUT, AND WILL WOULD TRULY BE COMPELLED TO DO ONLY GOD'S WORK EVEN GIVING UP THE THINGS WE LOVE THE MOST EVEN THE PEOPLE WE LOVE THE MOST, BECAUSE GOD'S PLAN IS PERFECT AND AWESOME AND IS THE GREATEST THINGS FOR LIFE.
MY CONCLUSION THEREFORE IS THAT, TO REALLY LIVE LIFE WELL AND THE WAY IT SHOULD BE LIVED, IT MEANS TO LIVE FOR THE PURPOSE GOD HAS FOR OUR LIVES AND TO LIVE THE WAY HE INTENDED FOR US TO LIVE...!!!...IN THAT TOO WE WOULD FIND THAT LIFE IS REALLY JOYFUL AND THERE WILL NEVER EVER BE A DAY WITH A DULL MOMENT OR A TIME WHERE WE NEED TO FEEL THAT WE HAVE IN ANY WAY MISSED ON IN LIFE. AND TO ALL THE WEARY SOULS OUT THERE, I WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT TAKING A BREAK FOR A VACATION IS ALSO PART OF GOD INTENTION FOR OUR LIVES. SO LIVE EVERYDAY FOR GOD AND TAKE A BREAK WHEN NECESSARY AND PURSUE THINGS OF MEANING...AND EVEN WHERE NOT POSSIBLE WITH THE CONSTRAINTS OF THE PRACTICALITIES OF LIFE, LIKE WORK MAKE THE MOST OF IT ALTHOUGH IT MAY NOT BE THE WORLDS MOST ENJOYABLE THING TO DO, BUT DO RMB TO MAKE TIME FOR OTHER PURSUITS, AND DON'T LEAVE THAT TILL TOO LATE COZ LIFE IS SHORT.
All in all, live a life that is worthwhile...life is worthwhile only because God loves us so much...so thats the truth to living, to live for God....

I read of a man who stood to speak
at the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
from the beginning...to the end.
He noted that first came the date of her birth
and spoke of the following date with tears,
but he said what mattered most of all
was the dash between those years.
For that dash represents all the time
that she spent alive on earth...and now only those who loved her
know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not, how much we own;the cars....the house...the cash.
What matters is how we live and love
and how we spend our dash.
So think about this long and hard...are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left
that can still be rearranged.
If we could just slow down enough
to consider what's true and real,
and always try to understand
the way other people feel.
And be less quick to anger,
and show appreciation more
and love the people in our lives
like we've never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect,
and more often wear a smile...remembering that this special dash
might only last a little while.
So, when your eulogy is being read
with your life's actions to rehash...would you be proud of the things theysay about how you spend your dash?
