Nothing Is Impossible With God II...For His Glory...

Ok, my last post was crazy long, and i had connection problems, so i could not blog in the post all i wanted to, so i continue from the last post. Well, i guess, in my last post, it was pretty much almost unrelated to my title, coz i hadn't really explained that. So, what i meant was that throughout last week, i needed to have in mind that all things are possible with God and so i should have trusted Him and not get upset over the troubles i face but have joy no matter what i faced. The post was to show that i had faced difficulties last week and how i should have trusted the Lord, and i wanted to show how amazing it was that God was actually reminding about the truth of joy despite our circumstances. But, this weekend, something more amazing happened, i watched this movie which seem again to be God speaking to me and all the things that the movie teaches one was exactly what i needed to know last week and exactly the way i should have reacted to the troubles i faced.

So, the moive is FACING THE GIANT, many people may have seen this movie already but i tell you, you could watch many times and not get sick of it, not because it was some spectacular film but because its message is so awesome and powerful and touching...you would be compelled to trust the Lord. If you've not seen, you should SO WATCH IT...!!!...its really a good movie. Even if ones watch it b4, i think its even worth watching it again...you once again feel a new surge of life and faith in God. Anw, so i spend many hours and with great difficulty to write down all the words that were said in the movie that mean alot and i wanna just use this post to share about the movie and give my thoughts about how that applys to me.

The movie began with a US High School football team, which lost in the High school football tournament. For six years, the team didn't win and the team lost many of its stars having got 6th place, and the coach of course was very upset. Then, there was the possibility of him getting sacked and to make things worst, he and his wife for many years couldn't have a child and he saw a doc and found that it was due to him. At this point, they had already started the season with 3 losses and he also had got a new kid to join the team, actually he was of a small built. In fact, he never played football b4, only soccer. This kid didn't believe in himself, he told his dad that he wasn't good enough for the team, but, his father said this:

Son: Why did God make me so small?
Father: When you were a kid, i prayed that God would show how strong he is in your life and through people will see how good He is. God made you small to show how MIGHTY He is.

But, anw, back to the coach again, at this point the after all that bad news, he wept in the night, and the next morning, he got up real early and he poured out his heart to God in a touching display, these are the words he said:

From Psalms 18

I will love you the Lord with all my strength

The Lord is my rock and my fortress

My delieverer

My God in whom i trust

My shield and the horn of my salvation

My stronghold

I will call upon the Lord who is worthy to be praised

So shall I be saved from my enemies...

Then, having read that verse, he prayed: Lord Jesus would you help me. I need you, the more i feel these giants of fear, the fear of failure just staring down at me waiting to crush me and i don't know how to beat them Lord. I am tired of being afraid. Lord, if you want me to do something else, show me. But, you are my God, you are on the throne, you have my hopes and my dreams. Lord give me something. Show me something.

On the day itself, while the coach was in the office, a pastor who walked past the classroom corridors everyday, touching the lockers of all the students' and praying for the students. He came up to his office after feeling that he was being led to tell the coach something on that day and said:

Revelation 3:7-10

These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut and what he shuts no one can open. I know your deeds. See i have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. I will make those who are of the synagogue of the enemy, who claim to be jews though they are not, but are liars-i will make them come and fall down at your feet and acknowledge that i have loved you. Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, i will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth.

After that, he continued saying, we serve a big God, the Lord is not through with you yet. You still have an open door that the Lord and until the Lord moves you, then you are to bloom right where you're at. I felt led to come and tell you that today.

Coach: You really believe that told you to come and tell me that?

Pastor: Yes.

Coach: I have been struggling and i have been praying, it is just not, see, working.

The pastor then told about a parable in the bible about: Two farmers, who were facinga drought, needed rain as its crops had not been growing, both farmers prayed to the Lord to send the rain, one of the farmers prepared his fields for the rain while the other didn't...who had the greater faith. He also said: God will send the rain when He's ready, you have to prepare for it.

How true this is, indeed in our lives, if we pray for God's help and we really believe and trust in Him, we must make the necessary preparations for the Lord to work in our lives. That's why we always say do your best and leave the rest to God.

Anw, so the fact that God sent the pastor to say those words to the coach and those words being exactly what he needed to hear was so amazing that it convicted the coach of the Lord hands in his life. He was touched and began to look to God, and applied now to his team.

On the next day, he spent the whole day writing down some of his thoughts and the new purpose for his team, one which applys to more than just football, but life also... the next day he said this to his team b4 training, which tells about how we should all live our lives:

Coach: What's the purpose of football?
Player: To win ball games?
Coach: Then what?
Player: We get a trophy and people talk about us...
Coach: Maybe...for awhile, then what?
Player: I dun know?...we get a scholarship, play for college, coach a little league team.
Assistant coach: What you getting at?...you think we're wasting our time here?
Coach: If our main goal is to win football games, then yes...
Captain: You don't want us to win football games
Coach: No, if that's our main goal
Coach: Winning football games is too small a thing to live for, and i love football as much as anybody, but even championship trophies will one day collect dust and be forgotten. Its just that so far all this has been about us, how we can look good, how we can get the glory. The more i read this book(Bible) , the more i realise that life's not about us. We are not just here to get glory, make money and die. The bible says that God put us here for Him, to honor Him. Jesus said that the most important you could do with your life is to love God with everything that you are and to love others and yourself. So if we win every game but we missed that, we've done nothing, football then means nothing. So i'm here to give you a new team philosophy. I think football is just one of the tools used to honor God.
Captain: So you think God does care about football?
Coach: I think He cares about where your heart is, if you live your faith out on the football field. Then yes, God cares about football, coz its about you. He sent His son Jesus to die for you, so that you can live for Him. That's why we're here but see it's not just on the football field. We got to honor Him in our lives, our relationships, our respect for authority, in the classroom and when you are at home alone. I want the Lord to bless this team so much that people talk about what He did. But, that means we need to give Him our best in everything. If we win, we praise Him, if we lose, we also praise Him. Either way, we honor Him with our actions and attitude, so i'm asking you who you're living for. I resolve to give God everything i've got and i'll leave the results up to Him. I wanna know if you'll join me.
Back on the field, he said some stuff b4 they had their training. he said that, your attitude is like the aroma of your heart. If your attitude stinks means your heart's not right. During this training, it was one of the most amazing trainings and one of the best trainings that the team ever had. That is because something happened that showed how powerful God is and how He can work amazing things in people. Furthermore, the coach coached more passionately than he'd ever done b4, all because of how God spoke to him through the pastor. So anw, he made the team captain do a drill where he had to carry a 160pound team member on his back and crawl for 30yards, but this time the coach blindfolded him and the coach kept on cheering him on and made him crawl instead of 30yards, the WHOLE LENGTH OF THE FIELD...!!!...and nobody believed he could even get to the 30 mark and exceeding it, no one could ever have predicted that. That truly was evidence of what the Lord can do in everyone. Then anw, training continued and they had the best training in a long time and that was that for that day...
Sometime passed and on another day, after training he spoke to one of his more rebellious players on the team. The coach noticed that he on a number of occasions had disobeyed his father. The coach told him that he should honor and respect his parents. The player said, why? The coach replied with something like about how God wants us to do that. But anw the player went on to ask the coach whether he really believed in God? and he continued saying that religion is not for everyone. But the coach told him that He needed to honor his parents and that he had to make his own choice to follow Jesus Christ, coz it would change his life and he said that he would see how much God loves him.
By this time, they had won their first three games, after losing those three games and they qualified for the playoffs.
Then, on the next training something even more amazing happened, because the bible class they had at the school went to the training grounds. And, this led to many of the players after hearing what the pastor taught the bible class on the field, accepted the Lord and many of the students just broke down and prayed to the Lord for forgiveness. The sight of this on the field was enough to make one feel grateful for life and it was a touching and emotional moment. And, the coach only after three hours realised that, and went to witness it and the rebellious player he had spoken to the last time had accepted the Lord, and the coach brought him to see his father where he apologized.
Back on the field, the other assisstant coach was teaching the new player how to kick the ball between the post and he said: He told him to change his philosophy of kicking to;
Based on scripture, wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction but narrow is the gate and straight is the way that leads to life. Basically, he was trying to get the kid to kick the ball down the middle and teaching him the gospel at the same time by incorporating that in with the training. And, on another day, the father of the rebellious player gave the coach a new truck as the coach was not very well off, as a gift for how he changed the boy's life. Although it was from the boy's father, it was in essence actually like a gift from God...
Then, the day for the big game in the playoffs for the first time for the team...B4 the game the coach said this: I feel like i'm standing before a new team tonite. Its a new day, new game. What you've experienced this week is going to come out on the field. Stay humble but confident. Then, the team captain prayed: Lord we know life's not about football, but we do thank you for letting us play tonite. Lord we're going to give you our best, if we win we'll praise you, if we lose we'll praise you. We give you all the glory and honor tonite. Lord keep us safe Amen.
And, sadly, they lost the game and their season had ended...or did it. After the match, dejected, the team still prayed and thanked the Lord. The coach disappointedly said i was hoping God would give us just one win in the playoffs.
But, after a few days past, a miracle happened, the team they played against had two over aged players and their team was set to advanced. They were no going to be out just yet...!!!....Then, ot long later the next game was up, b4 the match the coach said:
I serve a big God, he can do whatever He wants to do. He can open what He wants to open and shut whatever He wants to shut. And, a team who plays for His glory will have His blessings following them. And, true enough, they won the game. With this, he got a pay rise.
And, after this, game after game they won and b4 they knew it there they were, set to play in the finals....
Some days past, and before long, the day of the BIG FINAL CAME...!!!...the day began with the coach and his wife eating breakfast. They talked about the day the were going to face, and little did they know, God was about to do something marvelous in their lives that day...While the coach went to get his team ready at the game, his wife went again for the third time to see the doctor to see if she was pregnant again, as she had no child for many years but was determined to give it a try again. So, the wife went to see the doctor and sadly it was negative again, all hope seemed lost, and the coach's wife wept at her car but still in her faithfullness to God said to the Lord, I WILL STILL LOVE YOU GOD. Then, as God planned it, the files had actually been swopped wrongly and actually, she was pregnant, that clearly was a miracle that God had just done in their lives...and more was to come...
After that, she didn't tell her husband so as not to distract him before his big match but was happy...So, anw, before the game, the coach prayed to the Lord: Lord you brought us here, help us to honor you. Next, he spoke to his old coach. So, his friend told him that he was proud of what he had done for the team and that he already was a winner even if the team didn't win, and that he had already won the big won in that, he had accepted the Lord. And, about the fear, he told him not to fear, as the bible mentioned DO NOT FEAR 365 times.
Then, before the match started, this was his team talk: I love you'll and of i'm proud of y'll and i won't trade thte season for anything. Also, remember where God has brought us. We weren't suppose to have a winning season but we did, we weren't supposed to make it to the playoffs but we did, we weren't supposed to make it to the finals but we did. As long as we honor God, nothing is impossible. Give everything out on the field, give your best to the Lord tonite, whether we leave this field victors tonite, we will give God the glory. Now, who will fight the giants with me. Your job is to do your best and leave the rest to God.
The match went on and after the match got towards the end, the scores were such that his team was trailing by only 2points. It was already an amazing achievement for the team and how far the team had come was already amazing. By then, they needed to get one more kick in and they would win it...and the coach got his most inexperienced kicker, the new kid who joined to team to take the final kick. The coach told his player: Do you think God can help you make this kick?....he also said stuff all telling him to trust the Lord. And having never made a kick from that distance before, he actually made the kick by God's grace, a miracle happened. Their team against all expectations won the match. It was great, God helped them to win.
The coach then said this: I just watch God do a miracle through you. 85giants stood before us and we conquered them. Tell me, what is impossible with God. God can do anything and everything He wants to. He chooses to work in our lives because He loves us cause He is God. Tell me what is impossible with God.
After the touching match, the coach returned home thanking the Lord: He(God) did it, he gave me a job, provided for my needs, tool away my fear and throws in a state championship just because He can. These are the best days of my life. But, that wasn't all yet, his wife then told him that she was pregnant and that he was going to be a father. After hearing all of that, he broke down and cried tears of joy, all because he was OVERWHELMED by what God had done in his life.
Thats what happened in the movie....so the film touched me and taught me that, We should live for God's glory, God's plan is perfect, even with all the bad things that sometimes happen we should trust Him and that WITH GOD NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE. And, we should trust and have faith in God and be joyful no matter what circumstances we face, for God is in control and we are save in His hands and will do great things in our lives. So that was how amazing this film was. This movie was really what i needed to see at this point and God spoke to me so that was amazing.
I love you Lord and i trust you...Amen...

I've been searching thr on-line Bible Concordances for where in Scripture is that parable about the two farmers experiencing drought. Both prayed for rain, but the farmer who got his field ready, received the rain.

Can you please tell me the scripture & verse.
Thank you very much,
